In his first career, he had been a lead programmer on several games. He had been one of the early adopters of Bitcoin and did obtain the very first Bitcoin transaction from Bitcoin’s founder Satoshi Nakamoto.
After graduation from Caltech, he started to work in the field of personal computer gaming and was involved in such games as Persons of Tron, Armor Ambush, Astroblast and Space Attack.
Finney had also been a noted cryptographic activist. Throughout the early 1990s, along with being a frequent poster over the cypherpunks mailing list, Finney was involved in cryptographic activism on different levels, and it was that which supposed got him in contact with Satoshi Nakamoto
Back in October 2009, Finney announced in an informative article on his site that he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in August 2009. Before his disease, Finney has become a great runner. Finney and his wife raised money for ALS study together with all the Santa Barbara International Marathon runners.
Finney died on the 28th of August 2014, of natural causes relating to ALS may he rest in peace.
The big question
Did he invent Satoshi Nakamoto to hide that he did create bitcoin. One of the big arguments for that is the fact that he did receive the first transaction and if we combine that with the fact that he was a cryptographic specialist and activist we get an indicium for Hal Finney being Satoshi Nakamoto.
